Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 54 - 68 - 11, fighting out of Las Vegas, Helen Salvacion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thalys Soares!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soares misses with a jab, cross combination.
Salvacion thinks about countering with a body kick.
Soares shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Still in half guard, Soares seems content to control.
Soares is looking to advance position but Salvacion won't allow it.
Soares works his foot free and advances to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Soares is landing with some decent strikes but Salvacion is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Salvacion tries to hold on but Soares postures up.
Soares working the ground and pound effectively.
Soares controlling the pace for now.
Soares has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Soares pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Soares controlling his opponent.

Soares goes for an armbar but Salvacion turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Salvacion.
Soares has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Salvacion doesn't defend quickly enough and Soares has managed to lock this one up! Can Salvacion escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Soares on a fantastic submission victory.
