PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Xi Daerji (ranked 2738 p4p, 2301 weight class) and Toe Licker (ranked 0 p4p, 228 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 44 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Xi Daerji!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Toe Licker!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Licker misses the shot to the body.
Licker misses with a wild body shot.
Licker throws a hook to the side of Daerji's head but Daerji sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
It looked like Daerji was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Licker.
Licker takes a swing at Daerji's ribcage but misses.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Daerji.
Licker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Licker wants it to stay on the feet.
Daerji has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Daerji there as he acknowledges the shot.
Licker lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
A decent looking cross lands there for Licker.
Licker has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Daerji is landing a low percentage of strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Daerji fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Licker avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xi Daerji. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Daerji shoots for a double leg takedown but Licker sprawls well. He's pushed Daerji's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Good exchange - Licker coming out on top.
Licker misses with a wild combination.
Licker swings for the body but Daerji moves out of range.
Licker misses the body punch
and Daerji counters with a stiff right hand.
Daerji's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Licker connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Daerji scrambles back to his feet.
Licker throws an overhand right that lands on Daerji's shoulder, as Daerji tries to avoid the shot.
Licker misses with a body shot.
Licker misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Licker takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Licker leaves Daerji with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Daerji has a takedown stuffed.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Daerji misses with a takedown
and Licker counters with a nice body shot.
Daerji is breathing heavily.
Licker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Daerji was well out of range. Poor timing from Licker.
Licker scores with the left hand. Daerji knows he should have avoided that one.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Daerji fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Licker appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Licker misses with a jab, cross combination.
Daerji darts in and clinches Licker up against the cage.
Licker breaks from the clinch.
Licker bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Daerji's head.
Daerji is rocked!
Licker catches Daerji with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Daerji forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Toe Licker!
Toe Licker made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'I LOVE BANGING DUDES. LET ME BANG AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE DA JUMBA. I AM THE MAN IN THIS DIVISION, WITH OR WITHOUT THE BELT IT DONT MATTER I JUST BE BANGING'.
