And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 58 wins and 58 losses; Ceph Alopodis! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Oh closes this distance looking for a takedown but Alopodis circles away. Oh has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Oh leaves Alopodis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Oh is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Oh tries to pass the half guard into mount. Alopodis knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.  That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Oh sitting and controlling from the half guard. Alopodis tries to roll over but Oh keeps him under control. Oh passes into side control, despite Alopodis's attempt to control the position.
Score +3 for passing guard: Oh (5) vs (4) Alopodis The referee asks Oh politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Oh prefers to stall for the moment though.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Oh sitting and controlling from the half guard.
