Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Fitzpatrick (ranked 3992 p4p, 2235 weight class) and Taisei Sakuraba (ranked 374 p4p, 227 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Fitzpatrick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Taisei Sakuraba! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fitzpatrick moves out of range of the strikes. Sakuraba lands a really nice looking cross but Fitzpatrick seems unphased.
 It looks like Jason Fitzpatrick has been cut. Sakuraba showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Fitzpatrick.
Sakuraba with the counter takedown but Fitzpatrick avoids it easily. Sakuraba lands a nice looking kick to the body. Fitzpatrick takes a step back to recover. Fitzpatrick throws a head kick but Sakuraba moves out of range.
Sakuraba is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fitzpatrick takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Fitzpatrick darts in looking for a takedown but Sakuraba gets double underhooks and turns Fitzpatrick into the ropes. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Sakuraba has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Sakuraba has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Fitzpatrick clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sakuraba just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
 That's one minute gone in the round.
Sakuraba has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Fitzpatrick is defending well but eventually Sakuraba manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Fitzpatrick has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Taisei Sakuraba! Our winner, Taisei Sakuraba, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
