Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 21 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Kaito Tanaka! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bolle Gijs! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Kenichi Hosakawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Tanaka scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Tanaka throws a big shot that misses. Gijs changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. A nice leg kick lands there from Tanaka. Tanaka listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Tanaka dips to his left and cracks Gijs with an uppercut! Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tanaka works Gijs's body with a nice hook.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Tanaka throws a right hand that misses
and Gijs counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Tanaka! Gijs connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Tanaka some visible discomfort.
The strikes coming from Gijs are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Gijs creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Gijs tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Tanaka tries to improve position but can't. Gijs throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Gijs is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Tanaka will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Gijs lands a nice forearm strike. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tanaka avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Gijs.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Gijs throws an elbow but Tanaka slips to the side and avoids it well. Gijs connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Tanaka some visible discomfort.
Gijs trying to control the action but Tanaka is working from the bottom. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gijs cracks Tanaka with a big elbow. Tanaka is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Tanaka takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Gijs postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

 It looks like Kaito Tanaka has been cut. A big shot lands for Gijs! That's hurt Tanaka! Will he recover? Gijs fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
