PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yakami Sansho (ranked 25401 p4p, 25130 weight class) and Edward Krause (ranked 480 p4p, 458 weight class). Sansho comes to the cage accompanied by Sordid by Amon Tobin. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Yakami Sansho! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edward Krause! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Krause with a body punch. A glancing blow. Sansho takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Edward Krause seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sansho on the wrong end of a nice jab. Krause wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Sansho looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Krause throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Sansho counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Sansho slips under a jab from Krause. Krause takes a swing at Sansho's ribcage but misses. Krause looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Sansho lands a jab to the head.
A punch lands to the side of Krause 's head but he takes it in his stride. Sansho misses with a straight right. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sansho waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Krause. Sansho throws a body punch but Krause moves out of range.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Krause misses with a hook
and Sansho counters with a nice uppercut. Krause tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sansho was well out of range. Poor timing from Krause. Sansho is looking to counter punch. Krause keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sansho. Sansho throws a combination. Krause tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Krause lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Krause thows a left - swing and a miss! Sansho scores with a sloppy right hand. Krause should have avoided that one. Krause loads up on a big right hand but Sansho slips the punch. Krause lands a head shot. Krause lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A jab from Krause does it's job there.
 It looks like Yakami Sansho has been cut.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Sansho misses the shot to the body. Sansho avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Sansho looks to land a combination but Krause avoids it well. Sansho throws a shot from downtown. Krause moves away and avoids it. Krause looks like he wants to counter punch here. Sansho throws a big shot that misses. A big left from Krause misses. Sansho slips under a jab. Sansho keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Sansho loads up on a big right hand but Krause slips the punch. Sansho ducks under a wild hook from Krause.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Sansho throws a body punch but Krause moves out of range. Sansho works the jab nicely. Krause listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Krause throws a right and a left that both miss. Sansho throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Krause stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Sansho is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Krause misses with a straight left. A big right from Krause misses. Sansho swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Krause slips a jab and a cross from Sansho.

Krause is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Sansho had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. A punch lands to the side of Krause 's head but he takes it in his stride. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Krause has managed to clinch.
Sansho blocks an uppercut.

Sansho fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Krause breaks the clinch.
Sansho lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. A slow jab from Krause misses its intended target. Sansho is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
A decent looking cross lands there for Krause. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Edward Krause will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Yakami Sansho's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Sansho pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Krause misses with a right hand and Sansho counters with a straight right hand. Krause comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Krause rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sansho moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Krause tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sansho was well out of range. Poor timing from Krause. Krause throws a body shot but no joy. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Sansho!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Oooooh!!! Sansho has knocked Krause down with a huge combo! Sansho steps away and waves a wobbly Krause back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
 Krause is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sansho misses with a jab, cross combination.
Krause is still on wobbly legs! Can Sansho finish him? Sansho digs a good body shot into Krause's ribs. Krause seems to have recovered his senses. Krause slips a jab and a cross from Sansho.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Krause tries to clinch up.
Krause closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Sansho fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Sansho throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Sansho jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Krause walks away with a smile on his face. Sansho gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Sansho will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Krause jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Sansho misses with a straight right. Krause moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Krause instigates a clinch.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. A short right from Krause on the inside.
 Sansho is rocked! With the fighters clinched against the cage, Krause creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Oh Sansho is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Krause dips a shoulder and cracks Sansho with a mighty uppercut! Sansho falls back against the cage and Krause unloads with a barrage of strikes! Sansho is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Krause screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Edward Krause! A victorious Edward Krause thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
