Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sammy Case (ranked 3453 p4p, 3245 weight class) and Tatsura Onigawa (ranked 346 p4p, 333 weight class). Case comes to the cage accompanied by Girei. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sammy Case! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tatsura Onigawa! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Case throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Onigawa. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Onigawa has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Case closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Case breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Case misses with a wild combination.
Onigawa dives in and grabs Case's left leg, looking for a takedown. Case pushes down on Onigawa's head and hops out. Onigawa shoots in looking for a takedown. Case tries to sprawl out of it but Onigawa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Case manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Onigawa shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Onigawa showed some decent athleticism there. Case wants to get back to his feet.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Onigawa trying to mount his opponent but Case defends it.
Onigawa is working for a submission of some sort.

Onigawa wants to pass to mount but Case is defending the position. Case is trying to stand up here but Onigawa is controlling him well. Onigawa looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Onigawa is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Case sees it coming and defends easily. Case definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Onigawa looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Onigawa stops Case from getting back to his feet.
Onigawa is pressing down on Case's thigh, looking to free his foot. Case is holding on for now. Onigawa keeps trying to improve his position. Onigawa moves nicely into side control.
Onigawa is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Case is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Case is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Onigawa is controlling him well. Onigawa tries to move into full mount but can't pass Case's legs. Onigawa is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Case wants to get back to his feet but Onigawa drags him back down.

Onigawa tries to move to mount but Case blocks the move with his legs. Case wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Case prevents Onigawa from improving position. Onigawa tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Onigawa has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Case pushes Onigawa away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Onigawa gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Case trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Case explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Case throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Onigawa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Case sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Onigawa somewhat. Sammy Case has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tatsura Onigawa. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Onigawa on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Tatsura Onigawa will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Case shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Onigawa defends it nicely.
Case fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Onigawa, pushing him back against the cage. Case prevents the takedown attempt.
Case escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Onigawa takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Sammy Case seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Case closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Case lands in his opponent's guard. Case engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
 That's one minute gone in the round.
Onigawa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Case gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Onigawa has his foot on Case's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Case works his way back into a safe position though. Case wants to pass the guard but Onigawa is keeping the position.
Onigawa is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Case forces his way into half guard. Case seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Onigawa moves into full guard.

Onigawa is looking for a triangle here but Case uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Case is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Onigawa will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Onigawa is looking for a sweep. Case taking a breather here. Case has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. This is a sustained period of stalling by Case.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Onigawa avoids a punch combination nicely.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Sammy Case dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Case throws a solid leg kick but Onigawa takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Case. Onigawa steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Case. Onigawa walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Case does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Onigawa drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Case defends it well.
Case shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Case is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Onigawa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Case gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Onigawa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
 We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Case manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Onigawa keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Case breaks the clinch.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Onigawa keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Case. Onigawa defending well as Case loads up on a big left hand.
Case drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Case is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Onigawa is looking for a sweep. Case controls the position from side control. Onigawa stops Case from passing to mount.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Case landing a few strikes. Case tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Onigawa is looking to regain half guard here but Case keeps moving and retains side control. Case working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Case advances nicely into full mount. Case with good strikes from the mount here!
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Case tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Onigawa working to try and regain half guard.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Onigawa manages to regain half guard. Good work. Case is figuring out what he wants to do next. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that's the end of the fight! Sammy Case showed his dominance in that final round. Well Case has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
