Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hiroshi Gomi (ranked 2269 p4p, 1838 weight class) and Adam Bogo (ranked 160 p4p, 137 weight class). Gomi's entrance music is The Only Thing They Fear is You- DOOM Eternal OST. A fine choice. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 19 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hiroshi Gomi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 24 - 30 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Bogo! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Ben Hemmingworth and Bruno Hogan.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bogo scores with a head kick. Gomi tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Gomi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bogo.

and Bogo counters with a shoot takedown. Gomi fights it but they end up in guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Gomi wants to stand up but Bogo is controlling him. Bogo trying to control the position from guard on top but Gomi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bogo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Bogo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bogo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Bogo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Bogo prevents Gomi from getting back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bogo content to stall in guard here.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Gomi manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Bogo turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bogo manages to end up in side control.

Bogo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bogo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Gomi pushes Bogo away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Bogo gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Bogo tries to move into full mount but can't pass Gomi's legs. Gomi is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bogo asserts his dominance and retains side control.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Bogo postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Bogo decides to stand up, so the ref orders Gomi to his feet.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Gomi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bogo was well out of range. Poor timing from Gomi. Bogo wants to counter with a clinch but Gomi pushes him away. Bogo steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gomi. Gomi misses with a body shot.

Gomi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bogo throws out the jab. Bogo avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Bogo feints the counter takedown. Gomi bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Bogo's head. Gomi throws out a powerful jab. A swing and a miss from Gomi. Gomi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. And Bogo tries to counter it with a takedown but Gomi pushes his down on his head and steps out. A jab from Gomi does it's job there. Gomi misses with a combination
and Bogo counters with a single leg into guard. Gomi didn't expect that.
Gomi is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bogo goes for a takedown attempt but Gomi pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Gomi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Bogo is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Gomi throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Gomi scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Gomi missing with a left hand there. Bogo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A looping hook to the body misses from Bogo. Gomi does a little dance to reset his feet. Gomi lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Gomi throws an off balance right hand
and Bogo counters with a shoot takedown. Gomi fights it but they end up in guard.
Gomi wriggles free and stands up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Hiroshi Gomi will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Gomi looks to land a left hand but Bogo moved out of range nicely. Gomi is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Gomi blocks a head kick by Bogo.

and Bogo counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Gomi pushes Bogo off looking to stand but Bogo dives back in and keeps control.
Bogo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gomi defends it well. Gomi tries to kick Bogo off but Bogo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Bogo is controlling the pace.
