Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dean Howard (ranked 2927 p4p, 3420 weight class) and John Edmonds (ranked 336 p4p, 392 weight class). Edmonds has chosen Frankie Smith - Double Dutch Bus as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Dean Howard could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to John Edmonds's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 28 - 24 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dean Howard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 46 - 43 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Edmonds! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Topper Green and Darius Henderson.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Edmonds keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Howard changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Edmonds tries to avoid it but Howard manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Edmonds to the ground. Edmonds escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Edmonds scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Howard lands with a good body shot. Howard staying out of range there. Edmonds lunges at Howard with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Howard's hand. Howard avoids the head kick by Edmonds.
Howard feinted with a counter takedown. Howard throws a body punch but Edmonds moves out of range. Edmonds pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Howard darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Howard is trying to control. Edmonds wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Howard trying to mount his opponent but Edmonds defends it. Edmonds wants to get back to full guard.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Howard trying to mount his opponent but Edmonds defends it. Edmonds is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Edmonds is refusing to be controlled, as Howard sits in half guard. Edmonds tries to get to full guard but Howard has control of the leg. Howard trying to pass the guard but Edmonds defending well. Edmonds is positioning himself well to prevent Howard advancing to mount.
Howard looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Edmonds looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Howard drops an elbow to the side of Edmonds's head. Howard trying to pass the guard but Edmonds defending well. Howard is working hard here to advance position.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Howard landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Howard trying to control the action but Edmonds is working from the bottom. Howard thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Edmonds's head. Howard frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Howard is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Edmonds can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Edmonds is working to get back to half guard.
Howard has control of Edmonds's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Edmonds regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Edmonds is trying desperately to improve position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Howard tries to control but Edmonds wriggling away. Edmonds takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Howard content just to control the position here. Howard trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Howard swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Edmonds is now in Howard's guard. A big mistake from Howard there, giving up the dominant position! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Howard tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Dean Howard dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Howard swings widly with a right hand
and Edmonds counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. John Edmonds seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Howard shoots in and drives through. Edmonds sprawls well. Howard avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Edmonds misses with a looping left. Howard drops down looking for a counter takedown but Edmonds sprawls and moves away. A leg kick checked by Howard. Howard half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Howard works the jab nicely. Edmonds swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. The fighters circling - Edmonds throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Howard fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Edmonds tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Howard was well out of range. Poor timing from Edmonds. Edmonds throws a poor cross that misses
and Howard counters with a nice double leg into side control. Edmonds won't be happy with that. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Howard wants to control but Edmonds is keeping him busy. Howard landing a few strikes.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Howard cracks Edmonds with a big right hand but Edmonds just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Edmonds is looking to reverse the position. Howard trying to control the action but Edmonds is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Edmonds tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Howard wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Howard advances to full mount. Howard trying to control but he's not successful this time. Howard sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Howard lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Edmonds taking shots to the head. Edmonds working to try and regain half guard.
Howard working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Edmonds turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Howard off and cradles Edmonds's limp body as Howard celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Dean Howard! A very excited looking Dean Howard made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
