And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sergio Ramos!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Columbo Gatti and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramos scores with a sloppy right hand. Flowers should have avoided that one.
Ramos fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Flowers tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ramos manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Sergio Ramos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Flowers rushes Ramos and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Flowers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Flowers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A head kick misses from Flowers.
Flowers drops his hands momentarily and Ramos takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Ramos lands with a good body shot.
A big right from Ramos misses.
Ramos just misses with a punch to the body.
Flowers uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ramos.
Ramos throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Flowers sees it coming and avoids it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ramos dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Flowers slips a straight right by Ramos.
Flowers throws a head kick that half lands.
Flowers moves in looking to clinch but Ramos pushes him off.
Ramos uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Ramos looks to throw the jab but Flowers is out of range.

Flowers is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ramos's half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ramos can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ramos tries to get to full guard but Flowers has control of the leg.

Flowers is looking for a kimura but Ramos is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Flowers to get the leverage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Flowers stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Ramos to get to his feet.
Ramos misses with a right hand
and Flowers counters with a one-two to the body.
Ramos just misses with a punch to the body.

Ramos darts in and clinches Flowers up against the cage.
Ramos lands a left hand that snaps the head of Flowers backwards.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Flowers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Flowers throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ramos lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Flowers goes for a double leg but Ramos avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ramos continues to drive forward.
Flowers is trying to maintain a safe position but Ramos gets an underhook and turns Flowers into the cage.

Ramos has hold of one of Flowers's legs. Flowers is fighting the takedown attempt but Ramos gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Ramos connects with a couple of short punches.
Ramos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Flowers swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Flowers is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Flowers utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Flowers wants to stand but Ramos is controlling the position.
Ramos must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Ramos postures up in Flowers's guard and throws a big left but Flowers blocks it.
Ramos throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Flowers works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Ramos lying in Flowers's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Flowers decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Ramos taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
