Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nathan Daniels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Melvin Potts!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Anthony Taglia and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potts tries to clinch up but Daniels circles away and keeps his distance.
Daniels scores with a jab to the head.
Potts rushes Daniels and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Potts has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Daniels regains guard immediately.
Daniels pushes Potts off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Daniels gets tackled into the cage by Potts. Potts maintains the clinch.
Potts goes for a takedown in the clinch but Daniels prevents it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Potts's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Potts misses with a takedown attempt - Daniels sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Daniels avoids the head kick by Potts.
Daniels drives through and clinches with Potts against the cage.
Potts stalling.
Daniels wants a takedown.
Potts is trying to trip Daniels. He has hold of a leg but Daniels is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Potts persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Daniels manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Daniels wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Potts has him pressed against the cage.
Potts goes for a takedown in the clinch but Daniels prevents it.
Nathan Daniels has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Melvin Potts.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Daniels drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Daniels prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Potts tries to pull guard but Daniels holds him up against the cage and eventually Potts drops back down to his feet.
Potts tries to score a body lock takedown but Daniels shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Potts pulls guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Daniels wants to control from the top but Potts keeps moving.
Daniels postures up.
Potts looks winded!
Daniels is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Potts escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Daniels gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Daniels is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Daniels trying to control but Potts is working from the bottom.
Potts can't keep his opponent in guard - Daniels advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Daniels is working for a submission of some sort.
Daniels seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Potts is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
