Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Armando Quintero (ranked 4536 p4p, 4195 weight class) and Yurem Bird (ranked 457 p4p, 445 weight class). Armando Quintero had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 172.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Yurem Bird!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Columbo Gatti and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quintero fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Quintero has managed to clinch.
Quintero's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Quintero lands a head kick!
Quintero shoots in for a takedown but Bird shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Quintero really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Quintero takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
It looks like Armando Quintero has been cut.
Quintero shoots in but Bird avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Armando Quintero. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bird throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Quintero stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Bird lands a hook that snaps the head of Quintero backwards.

Bird throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Quinteros head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bird throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
A left hand lands to the body for Bird.
Bird lands with a left to the head.
Bird lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Quintero.

A nice left hand lands by Bird.
Bird is leaning against Quintero and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Bird pushes Quintero back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Quintero takes a shot to the head.
Bird lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Quintero is rocked!
Bird lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Quintero backwards.
Oh Quintero is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bird drops Quintero onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Quintero is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Bird creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Quintero's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Quintero drops to his knees and Bird pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yurem Bird!
