Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ian Mesquita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Xavier Schmidt!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mesquita scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Mesquita misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Schmidt.
Schmidt tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Mesquita dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Schmidt is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mesquita defends well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mesquita is looking to advance position but Schmidt has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Mesquita bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Schmidt has his foot on Mesquita's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mesquita works his way back into a safe position though.

Schmidt has his feet on Mesquita's thighs here. He's pushed Mesquita off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Mesquita screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
