The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Sousa shoots in but Cowboy avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Sousa has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Cowboy after a bit of a struggle.

Cowboy not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Sousa has his foot on Cowboy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cowboy works his way back into a safe position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Sousa is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Cowboy still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Cowboy has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Sousa tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sousa has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Cowboy tries to control but Sousa manages to take his back.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
