PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Moody (ranked 997 p4p, 1755 weight class) and Charles Oliveira (ranked 102 p4p, 175 weight class). Moody comes to the cage accompanied by New Authentic - The Abyss. Oliveira has chosen In the air tonight Phil collins as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Tommy Moody has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charles Oliveira!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Oliveira has closed the distance and engaged Moody in a clinch.

Moody manages to break the clinch.
Moody throws out a loose jab but Oliveira uses good head movement to avoid it.
Oliveira ducks under a wild hook from Moody.
Moody swings for the body but Oliveira moves out of range.
Tommy Moody seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Moody loads up on a big right hand but Oliveira slips the punch.
Moody thuds his right hand into Oliveira's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Moody struggles to land a body shot inside as Oliveira controls his hands.
Oliveira has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Moody after a bit of a struggle.

Moody is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Oliveira's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Oliveira takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Oliveira tries to score a power double leg takedown but Moody sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Oliveira somewhat.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tommy Moody.
