Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Pelipe (ranked 25003 p4p, 2875 weight class) and Mikuru Asakura (ranked 379 p4p, 240 weight class). Hugo Pelipe has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hugo Pelipe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mikuru Asakura!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pelipe throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Asakura stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Pelipe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Asakura circles away quickly and effectively.
Asakura lands a head shot.
Pelipe throws a shot to the body.
Pelipe throws the left hand but Asakura avoids the punch easily.
Pelipe misses with a left hand
and Asakura counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Pelipe throws a looping overhand right but Asakura ducks down to avoid it.
It seemed like Asakura was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

and Asakura counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Pelipe tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Asakura was well out of range. Poor timing from Pelipe.
A little jabbing left from Asakura on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Asakura steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pelipe.
Asakura throws a shot from downtown. Pelipe moves away and avoids it.
Pelipe is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Asakura.
Pelipe falls off balance throwing a combination
and Asakura counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Asakura closes the distance and clinches up with Pelipe, looking for a takedown. Asakura pushes Pelipe against the cage but Pelipe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A big left from Asakura misses.
Pelipe throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
And Asakura tries to counter it with a takedown but Pelipe pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Pelipe misses with a looping right.
Asakura changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Asakura slips under a jab.
Good standup being displayed there by Pelipe as he connects with a hook.
Pelipe misses with an uppercut
and Asakura connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Pelipe lands a really nice looking cross but Asakura seems unphased.
Pelipe just misses with a punch to the body.
Pelipe throws a poor cross that misses
and Asakura counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Pelipe lands with a good body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pelipe stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Hugo Pelipe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pelipe moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Pelipe swings widly with a right hand
and Pelipe takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Pelipe throws a predictable looking body shot
and Asakura comes in over the top with a devastating right hand! Pelipe stumbles back against the cage, looking to regain his senses but Asakura is on him like rabid pit bull! Pelipe slumps to the ground under a storm of punches and this fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mikuru Asakura!
After winning the bout, Mikuru Asakura thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
