Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bob Michigan (ranked 1491 p4p, 2168 weight class) and Antonio Reyes (ranked 150 p4p, 227 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Antonio Reyes was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bob Michigan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antonio Reyes! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big left from Michigan misses. Reyes misses with a body shot.
Michigan tries to counter by clinching up but Reyes breaks away and moves out of range. Michigan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Michigan drops down looking for a counter takedown but Reyes sprawls and moves away. Michigan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Reyes pinned against the cage. Reyes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Michigan throws out a loose jab but Reyes uses good head movement to avoid it. Michigan misses the shot to the body. Reyes throws a one two combo.
Reyes throws a jab but it's blocked by Michigan. Michigan has been working on his balance at LA FIGHT BARN, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Reyes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A punch combination from Reyes misses. Reyes takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Reyes swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Reyes. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Reyes connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Reyes takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Michigan scores with a nice head shot. Michigan bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Michigan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Reyes keeping moving, preventing Michigan from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reyes looking to control.

Reyes is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Michigan is aware though and is defending well. Michigan works over Reyes with some ground and pound from guard. Michigan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Michigan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Reyes is keeping the position for now. Michigan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Reyes is looking to stand up but Michigan isn't so interested in that idea. Michigan trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Michigan with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Michigan is looking to work some ground and pound but Reyes has wrist control. Michigan working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Reyes's head. Reyes has control of Michigan's left arm, preventing Michigan from doing any damage. Michigan wants to control from the top but Reyes keeps moving. Michigan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That was a close round but I would say that Bob Michigan will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Michigan has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Reyes is on him like a limpet, forcing Michigan back against the cage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Michigan.

Michigan cracks Reyes with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. This has been an exciting period of action! The fighters circling - Reyes throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Good exchange - Michigan coming out on top. Michigan showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Reyes.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Reyes waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Michigan. Michigan moves out of range of the strikes. Michigan slips a jab and a cross from Reyes.
Michigan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Reyes tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Michigan is in Reyes's guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Reyes holds on and takes a little breather. Michigan working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Reyes's head.  That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Reyes throws a big elbow that misses. Reyes is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Reyes wants to control from the top but Michigan keeps moving. Reyes looking to pass the guard.
 The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Michigan pushes Reyes back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Reyes looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Michigan has Reyes pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Michigan pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Reyes tumbling to the mat - Michigan dives into Reyes's guard. Bob Michigan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Michigan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Michigan is fighting to break Reyes's control of his arms but Reyes is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
