The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Gotch shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kersikov as he avoids it easily. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Kersikov tries to move into full mount but can't pass Gotch's legs. Kersikov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
