The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Prochazka is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Karelin's half guard. Karelin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Prochazka is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Will it pay off? Prochazka controlling the position well here. Karelin rolled but Prochazka kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Let's hope that Prochazka has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Prochazka is not going to allow Karelin to sit and survive in this position.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Prochazka just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
