And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 16 wins and 8 losses; Diego Nogueira! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Goble will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Nogueira is trying hard to land a takedown here. Goble sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Goble half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Goble shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Let's hope that Nogueira has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. I really don't envy Nogueira right now.

 That's nine minutes gone in the round. It looks like Nogueira might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Goble controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Nogueira content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. We've been hearing good reports from Goble's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills.
