This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 116 wins and 75 losses; Bogdan Kersikov! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Sosuke Kotani and Taro Takaoka.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kersikov is defended easily by Alopodis. No luck for Alopodis with that takedown attempt. Alopodis shoots in for a double leg but Kersikov sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kersikov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Alopodis avoids it really well and circles away.
Kersikov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Alopodis (0) vs (4) Kersikov Kersikov staying calm. Alopodis tries to improve position but can't.
 That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kersikov staying calm. Kersikov wants to control but Alopodis is keeping him busy.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. My spies in KFA inform me that Kersikov has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Kersikov tries to advance to mount but can't. Alopodis is looking to regain half guard here but Kersikov keeps moving and retains side control.

Kersikov can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Alopodis is looking to escape.

Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Kersikov moves to his opponent's back but Alopodis bucks him off and ends up in guard.  That's six minutes gone in the round. Kersikov pulls Alopodis in close to prevent any damage. Alopodis is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
 That's seven minutes gone in the round. Kersikov manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Alopodis manages to get himself to full guard.

Alopodis is fighting to break Kersikov's control of his arms but Kersikov is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Alopodis tries to free his leg and advance position but Kersikov is retaining full guard. Alopodis is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
 That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Kersikov keeping full guard, as Alopodis tries to pass. Kersikov can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Alopodis controls the pace.
 That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Alopodis has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Alopodis wants to control from the top but Kersikov keeps moving.
 That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Alopodis showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Kersikov keeping moving, preventing Alopodis from controlling successfully. Alopodis sitting in guard, not really doing much. Kersikov looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alopodis is one step ahead there.
 That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Kersikov not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Alopodis content to stall in guard here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Alopodis trying to control but Kersikov is working from the bottom.
