And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 38 wins and 45 losses; Dragon Li Chai!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Shimada and Sosuke Kotani.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Kersikov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Chai defends it nicely.
Nice takedown defense from Kersikov. No joy for Chai on that attempt.
Chai stuffs the takedown attempt from Kersikov. Kersikov gets slowly back to his feet.
Chai tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kersikov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Chai somewhat.
Kersikov goes for a double leg but Chai avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Chai continues to drive forward.

Chai is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Kersikov can't fight it off and eventually Chai manages to take the fight to the floor. Kersikov looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Chai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kersikov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kersikov bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Chai's guard.

Chai has his foot on Kersikov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kersikov works his way back into a safe position though.

Chai is looking for a sweep. Kersikov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Kersikov is taking a breather. Chai says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Kersikov wants to free his trapped foot but Chai is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Kersikov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Kersikov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Chai is trying to break free.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kersikov has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Chai's body.
