Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mehdi Kanaani (ranked 2635 p4p, 4185 weight class) and Krzysztof Zakrzewski (ranked 272 p4p, 401 weight class). Kanaani comes to the cage accompanied by Dr. Dre ft. Snoop Dogg - Nuthin' But A G Thang. Mehdi Kanaani had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 157.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

With a record of 9 - 44 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Krzysztof Zakrzewski!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zakrzewski shoots and misses
letting Kanaani counter with a right hand.

It looks like Krzysztof Zakrzewski has been cut.
Kanaani moves into range and connects with a jab.

Zakrzewski shoots for a double leg takedown but Kanaani sprawls well. He's pushed Zakrzewski's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
It looked like Kanaani was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Zakrzewski.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kanaani's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Kanaani gets to his feet. Zakrzewski looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Kanaani lands with a straight right. Zakrzewski didn't see that one coming.
Kanaani leaves Zakrzewski with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kanaani looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

Kanaani bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Zakrzewski! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
The cut above Krzysztof Zakrzewski's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Zakrzewski shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

and Kanaani cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kanaani lands a brutal uppercut that launches Zakrzewski off his feet! Zakrzewski tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
