This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Blonde Brunson! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 7 losses; Jan Sokol! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Brunson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sokol as he jumps to the side. Brunson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Sokol is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Brunson misses with a takedown attempt - Sokol sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Blonde Brunson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Brunson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Brunson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Sokol is surviving well by controlling Brunson's body position as best he can. Sokol felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Sokol is squirming around, avoiding Brunson's attempts to control the action.
Brunson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Sokol has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Sokol! Brunson has his foot on Sokol's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sokol works his way back into a safe position though.
Sokol is posturing up here but Brunson has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Sokol tries to roll out but it's too tight and Sokol has to tap! Slick submission there by Brunson!
