Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ricky Payne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Richard Richman!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richman throws a nice outside leg kick.
Payne has closed the distance and engaged Richman in a clinch.
Payne lands a left hand.
Richman breaks from the clinch.
Richman scores with a body shot.
Payne looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Richman scoring well with a low kick there.
Richman tries a head kick but it misses.
Nice sprawl there from Richman as Payne shoots in.
Richman thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Payne if he has to take too many more of those.
Payne moves in looking to clinch but Richman pushes him off.
Payne misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Richman attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

and Payne counters with a takedown into side control.

Richman is squirming around, avoiding Payne's attempts to control the action.

Richman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Payne is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Payne takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Richman moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Richman fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Payne.
Richman looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
That kick from Richman tenderised Payne's leg. Payne is trying to keep his angry face on.
Richman has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Payne walks into a jab.
Payne shoots in and drives through. Richman sprawls well.
Richman scores with a jab to the jaw.

Payne has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Richman.
Payne tries to close the distance and clinch but Richman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Richman moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Some wild striking there from Payne.
Richman raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Richman throws a chopping leg kick but Payne manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
It looked like Payne was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Payne takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Richman fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Payne has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Payne tries to clinch but Richman moves out of range.
Richman avoids a punch combination nicely.
Richman tries a head kick but it misses.
Payne throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Richman lands a nice leg kick that just misses Payne's sensitive parts.

Payne takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Payne takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Payne throws a sloppy head kick and Richman moves out of range easily.

Richman paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Richman scores with a nice strike.
Payne scores with a punch to the head.
Richman avoids the head kick by Payne.
Richard Richman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Payne moves into the clinch successfully.
Richman gets underhooks to prevent Payne's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricky Payne. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Richman misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Payne.
Nice body punch from Richman.
Payne has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Richman avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Payne is looking for a takedown.
Payne is breathing heavily.
Richman is trying to push Payne away but Payne has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Richman misses with a body punch.
Payne wants to break free but Richman has control.
Payne tries a knee to the head but Richman blocks it.
Richman prevents the takedown attempt.

Payne stalling the fight.
Payne manages to break the clinch.
Payne misses with a jab, cross combination.
Richman throws a quick inside leg kick.
Richman throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Richman cracks Payne with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Richman lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Richard Richman dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Richman throws a nice inside leg kick.
Nice uppercut there from Richman.

Payne takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Richman misses with a body kick.
Payne misses with a looping left.
Richman with a nice calf kick.
Richman finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
A head kick by Payne misses
and Richman counters with a solid body kick.
Payne changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Richman tries to avoid it but Payne manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Richman to the ground. Richman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Payne.
Richman steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Richman goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Payne is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Richman lands a really nice looking cross but Payne seems unphased.
Oh Payne is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Richman lands with a big right hook that stumbles Payne - he's out on his feet here! Richman follows up with another monster hook that separates Payne from consciousness! Payne falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Richman stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
