The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Van Sanders did well to prevent Hughes getting side control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hughes is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Van Sanders is trying to escape and Hughes transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Van Sanders is forced to tap! Nice work there by Hughes! Very nice indeed!
