PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Diddy (ranked 1940 p4p, 1082 weight class) and Olivier Dujardin (ranked 235 p4p, 134 weight class). Diddy comes to the cage accompanied by lvl99ROIDMAGE. Dujardin has chosen Sosa by Leto & Guy2bezbar as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Diddy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Olivier Dujardin!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Chad Campbell and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dujardin lands a jab.
Diddy works the jab nicely.
Dujardin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Joe Diddy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A cross from Dujardin lands.
Diddy throws a lazy right hand but Dujardin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Diddy lands with an uppercut that bounces Dujardin off the cage and back into range.
Dujardin swats away the attempt to clinch by Diddy.
Diddy missing with a left hand there. Dujardin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Diddy throws an off balance right hand
and Dujardin counters with a straight right hand.
Diddy misses the jab.
Dujardin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Diddy.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Dujardin! But no joy.

Diddy closes the distance and clinches.
Dujardin scores with a nice hook to the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dujardin throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Diddys head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dujardin scores with a shot to the side of Diddy's head.
Diddy tries for a takedown. No joy.
Dujardin gets through Diddy's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Diddy lands a damaging elbow.
Diddy prevents a body shot from Dujardin.
Diddy tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Dujardin swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Diddy is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Diddy drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Dujardin gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Diddy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dujardin is pressed up against the cage. Diddy has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dujardin down to the mat. Dujardin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Diddy connects with a right hand. Dujardin shakes it off.
Diddy tries to clinch but Dujardin moves away
and Dujardin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Diddy is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Dujardin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Diddy.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Dujardin! But no joy.
Diddy tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Dujardin counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Diddy is looking to improve his position.
Diddy gets full guard.
Diddy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Dujardin chips away with some ground and pound.

Diddy is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Dujardin lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Dujardin working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Dujardin trying to control the position from guard on top but Diddy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dujardin's corner is telling him to maintain position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dujardin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Dujardin is working Diddy over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Dujardin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diddy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dujardin has managed to get both his arms back between Diddy's legs - danger averted.
Dujardin lands a couple of digs.

Dujardin is sitting in close to Diddy's body. Diddy has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Dujardin is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Dujardin is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Diddy.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Joe Diddy!
A very excited looking Joe Diddy made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
