PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Antwan Moore (ranked 4104 p4p, 25297 weight class) and Allen Douglas (ranked 445 p4p, 559 weight class). Douglas has chosen Pharoahe Monch - Simon Says as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Allen Douglas is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antwan Moore! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Allen Douglas! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Taro Takaoka.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moore fails in his attempt to clinch.
Douglas closes the distance and clinches. Douglas holding his opponent close, against the ropes.
Douglas digs a right hand underneath Moore's ribcage. Moore let out a lung full of air as it connected. Douglas stalling.
Douglas is struggling to control the position. Moore tries to break free but Douglas pushes him back against the ropes. A frustrated look appears on Moore's face as he tries to break the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Douglas taking a breather. Douglas slowing the pace effectively. Moore has had enough of the clinch but Douglas keeps him there for the moment. Douglas is struggling to control the position.
 That's one minute gone in the round. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Allen Douglas. Douglas tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Moore darts in trying to clinch and Douglas cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Douglas with the inside leg kick. Moore has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Douglas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Moore tries to close the distance and clinch but Douglas swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Douglas is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Douglas closes the distance and scores with a big combo that sends Moore crashing to the mat! Moore uses the ropes to get back to his feet and beat the count. The referee looks concerned but he's going to allow it to continue! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Douglas misses with a head kick.
Moore has taken the fight to the clinch.
Douglas has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Moore seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Douglas can turn it around. Douglas lands with a left to the head. Douglas misses with a hook to the ribs.
Moore is trying to force a seperation but Douglas has the dominant position.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Douglas blocks the elbow strike.
The fighters are pressed against the ropes, as the pace of the fight slows. Moore working hard to break the clinch. Moore is looking to break free of the clinch but Douglas has double underhooks. Douglas avoiding damage.
Douglas lands a nice uppercut. Moore misses with a punch on the inside.
Douglas on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Douglas stalling in the clinch.
Douglas lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Douglas has Moore pushed against the ropes. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Having scored a knockdown, Allen Douglas should take round 1, putting pressure on his opponene back strong in round 2. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Douglas goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Moore throws a body shot but no joy. Douglas throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A big right from Douglas misses. Douglas lands a high kick!
Douglas looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Sloppy strikes from Douglas. Those never looked like landing. Douglas throws out a leg kick but Moore moves out of range and Douglas only half commits. Moore takes a kick to the side of the head. Moore moves away from the strike by Douglas. Douglas misses with a jab to the body
and Moore counters with a head kick. That will keep Douglas thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Moore throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Douglas feints a jab promting Moore to slip. Douglas then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Moore slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Douglas catches Moore napping and connects with a fantastic 3 punch combination that sends Moore crashing to the mat! He's still conscious but he's all over the place - can he beat the count?!? 4,5,6,7,8...9...10! He didn't make it back to his feet! Douglas raises both arms skywards and takes in the roar from the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:07 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Allen Douglas!
