The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carmont just misses with a punch to the body.

Carmont drops down looking for a counter takedown but Holloway sprawls and moves away.
Holloway throws a leg kick which misses Carmont's front leg but catches the back leg as Carmont tries to avoid it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carmont is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Carmont ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Holloway moves away.
Holloway appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

Holloway thuds his right hand into Carmont's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Carmont connects with a nice short shot to Holloway's temple.
Carmont thows a huge punch but Holloway dodges it nicely.
Well, if Carmont is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight� I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza� Yum. Can't wait.
Holloway makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Holloway.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Carmont is really struggling to control Holloway but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The fighters circling - Carmont throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Carmont chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Holloway can pounce on him.

Carmont is trying to stick to Holloway's back but Holloway is turning into Carmont. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Carmont's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Holloway.
