And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 41 wins and 49 losses; Filmore Everett! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious?
Everett gets tackled into the ropes by The Flamingo. The Flamingo maintains the clinch. Everett tries to score a body lock takedown but The Flamingo shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Everett is trying to pull guard but The Flamingo has him pressed against the ropes.
The Flamingo is trying to trip Everett. He has hold of a leg but Everett is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. The Flamingo persists though and gets the takedown into guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Everett wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Let's hope that Everett has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

 That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Everett has a hand on The Flamingo's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. The Flamingo takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get The Flamingo off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. The Flamingo biding his time, looking for the opening.

The Flamingo has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Everett is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for The Flamingo.
