The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Ibarra. No joy for Piedbatulo on that attempt.
Piedbatulo takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Ibarra misses with a series of wild punches.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Piedbatulo has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Ibarra tries a head kick but it misses.
Ibarra throws a body punch but Piedbatulo moves out of range.
Piedbatulo with the counter takedown but Ibarra avoids it easily.
Elian Ibarra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ibarra steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Piedbatulo.

Ibarra throws a counter high kick but Piedbatulo was just alert enough to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Piedbatulo closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ibarra's guard.

Ibarra pushes Piedbatulo off but Piedbatulo dives into side control.

Piedbatulo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ibarra is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Piedbatulo is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Ibarra is trying to escape and Piedbatulo transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Ibarra is forced to tap! Nice work there by Piedbatulo! Very nice indeed!
