Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jakob Rolf (ranked 562 p4p, 1187 weight class) and Omar Dahir (ranked 51 p4p, 120 weight class). Rolf kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is AVGN Theme Song. Jakob Rolf had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 29 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jakob Rolf! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Omar Dahir! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rolf jabs at Dahir's body. Dahir looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rolf is fending him off so far but Dahir persists. Nope, Rolf circles away and we're back to standing. Rolf throws a hook to the side of Dahir's head but Dahir sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Rolf fails with an attempt to clinch.

and Dahir counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Rolf throws a big shot that misses. Rolf goes for a double leg but Dahir avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Dahir continues to drive forward. Dahir lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Rolf or not. Rolf misses with a hook from the clinch. Rolf misses with a punch to the body.
Dahir breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nice shot by Rolf. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rolf cracks a nice hook into Dahir's ribs. Rolf misses with a body shot.
Dahir throws out a counter right but Rolf avoids it with no problem. Dahir walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. This has been an exciting period of action! Dahir dodges the punch combination from Rolf.
It seemed like Dahir was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
 That's one minute gone in the round. A lazy left from Rolf finds it's target. Rolf scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Dahir bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Rolf's head. Rolf takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. A jab lands there for Dahir. Rolf fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
 Dahir is rocked! Dahir looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rolf is fending him off so far but Dahir persists. Nope, Rolf circles away and we're back to standing. Rolf comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Rolf lands a body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rolf looks to score with a jab to the body but Dahir is just out of range.
 That's two minutes gone in the round.

Dahir walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Rolf checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Rolf misses with an uppercut.
Rolf closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rolf lands in his opponent's guard. Rolf stands and throws Dahir's legs to the side, diving into side control. Dahir is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Rolf off and has taken his back! Rolf wants to escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dahir throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Rolf!
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Dahir throwing damaging strikes from the back! Rolf could be in trouble here!
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Rolf rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Rolf is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Dahir scores with a couple of nice shots. Dahir trying to control from half guard but Rolf is working away. Rolf is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Rolf is working hard here to advance position. Dahir throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Rolf is looking to improve his position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Rolf has hold of Dahir's hands but Dahir slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Rolf looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Rolf is looking to control Dahir's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rolf avoid being mounted? Dahir looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rolf with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Dahir working over Rolf with some ground and pound. Rolf looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.  That's five minutes gone in the round. Rolf looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dahir is one step ahead there. Dahir lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Rolf wants to sweep here but Dahir controlling him for the moment. Dahir content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Rolf being controlled here, momentarily.  That's six minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Rolf is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dahir postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Rolf can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dahir controls the pace. Dahir landing some decent shots from guard. Rolf is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Dahir throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rolf works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Dahir lands a couple of elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rolf escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dahir gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Dahir got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rolf has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dahir has managed to get both his arms back between Rolf's legs - danger averted. Dahir stands up over Rolf, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.  That's eight minutes gone in the round. Dahir makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Rolf throws his legs up looking for a submission but Dahir uses it to pass to side control.

Dahir wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rolf keeps working. Dahir tries to move to mount but Rolf blocks the move with his legs. Dahir cracks Rolf with a big right hand but Rolf just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

 That's nine minutes gone in the round. Dahir lands some shots froms side control. Oh Rolf is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Rolf is looking for a sweep. Good killer instinct there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 9:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Omar Dahir! After winning the bout, Omar Dahir thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility. The defeated Jakob Rolf had this to say: 'ASS!!!
