Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alkandros Vasilios (ranked 1277 p4p, 1495 weight class) and Jaro Key (ranked 116 p4p, 133 weight class). Key has chosen HonestKey- The Unseen as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Jaro Key enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 16 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alkandros Vasilios! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jaro Key! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and William Peck.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Key lands a jab to the head.
Nice sprawl there from Vasilios as Key shoots in. Vasilios takes a swing at Key's ribcage but misses. Key connects with a looping right hand.
Vasilios throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Vasilios stuffs the takedown attempt from Key. Key gets slowly back to his feet. Vasilios misses the shot to the body. A jab from Vasilios does it's job there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vasilios takes a swing at Key's ribcage but misses. Key is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Vasilios scores with a hook to the body. Key takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Key tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Vasilios defends well and Key ends up having to push Vasilios into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Alkandros Vasilios has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jaro Key.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Vasilios connects with a jab. Vasilios loads up on a big right hand but Key slips the punch. Key looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Key missing with a left hand there. Vasilios was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. We've been hearing reports that Vasilios has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Key on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Vasilios looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Vasilios swings for the body but Key moves out of range.
Vasilios fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Key manages to avoid it. Key ducks under a wild hook from Vasilios. Key tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. A punch lands to the side of Vasilios 's head but he takes it in his stride. Vasilios throws a hook to the side of Key's head but Key sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Key with the counter takedown but Vasilios avoids it easily.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Key looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vasilios is fending him off so far but Key persists. Nope, Vasilios circles away and we're back to standing. A slow jab from Vasilios misses its intended target. Vasilios thuds a left hand into Key's body. Key misses with a wild body shot. Vasilios looks to throw the jab but Key is out of range. Vasilios throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Key misses with an uppercut. Vasilios saw that one coming. Key throws a nice looking combination but Vasilios bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Key throws a jab when Vasilios was well out of range.

Vasilios fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Key to the ground. Vasilios is now in Key's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Key controls Vasilios momentarily but Vasilios frees himself.
Key is looking for a triangle but Vasilios pushes his legs off easily.
Vasilios lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Key had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vasilios defends it easily. Vasilios wants to pass the guard but Key is keeping the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Vasilios is in close to Key's body, working some short punches and elbows. Vasilios has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Key can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vasilios controls the pace.
Key is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Vasilios defends well. Key keeping moving, preventing Vasilios from controlling successfully. Key not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
 That's five minutes gone in the round. Vasilios pushing down on Key's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Vasilios trying to control the action but Key is working from the bottom. Key is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Vasilios stalling. Key won't allow Vasilios to pass to mount. Key is looking for a sweep. Vasilios is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Vasilios perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Vasilios wants to lay and pray for a moment but Key keeps working.
 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
 That's six minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Vasilios scores with a takedown into Key's guard. Key working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Vasilios. Key controls Vasilios momentarily but Vasilios frees himself. Vasilios trying to control the position from guard on top but Key is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Key trying to keep a closed guard but Vasilios is proving a slippery customer.

 That's seven minutes gone in the round. Vasilios won't allow Key to sweep him here. Vasilios wants to control from the top but Key keeps moving. Vasilios not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

 That's eight minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Key has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vasilios can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Vasilios in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Vasilios loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Key uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Vasilios. Vasilios scores with a body shot.
Key stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Key wants it to stay on the feet. Key feints the counter takedown.

Vasilios dives in and scores a takedown into Key's guard. Vasilios trying to control the position from guard on top but Key is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Key wants to improve his position but Vasilios is controlling well.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Key has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vasilios is working away from the top position though. Vasilios wants to lay and pray for a moment but Key keeps working. Key trying to control but Vasilios postures up.
Alkandros Vasilios overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Vasilios takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Vasilios scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Key is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Vasilios pulls his head out easily.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Vasilios trying to control the action but Key is working from the bottom. Vasilios prevents Key from improving his position. Key has his hands clasped together around Vasilios's back. He's all about the action. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Key manages to get to full guard.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasilios looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Key with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Vasilios is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Key trying to control but Vasilios postures up.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Key misses with a looping left. Vasilios lands with a right hand. Key throws a lazy right hand but Vasilios sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Key misses with a jab, cross combination.
Vasilios attempts a counter takedown but Key avoids it well and moves away. No luck with that takedown attempt from Vasilios. Key changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Vasilios connects with the punch. No luck with that takedown attempt from Vasilios. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alkandros Vasilios. That's going to take a lot out of him.
 That's five minutes gone in the round. Vasilios throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Key uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vasilios.
Vasilios tries to close the distance and clinch but Key swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Key fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vasilios manages to avoid it. Vasilios attempts a counter takedown but Key avoids it well and moves away.
Vasilios shoots in and bounces Key off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Key wants to hit a sweep here but Vasilios passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Key there! Key is in all sorts of trouble here.
 That's six minutes gone in the round. Vasilios tries to control but Key wriggling away. Key working to try and regain half guard.
Vasilios lands a nice shot to the head. Vasilios scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Vasilios raining down hammerfists from mount. Key can't escape the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Vasilios looking to control but Key is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
 That's seven minutes gone in the round. Key tries to control Vasilios's body but Vasilios pushes him off. Key squirms to his side and now Vasilios has his back! Key staying busy and making it hard for Vasilios to control. Vasilios is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Vasilios gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Vasilios gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Vasilios apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Vasilios is looking to wear down Key with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Key swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Vasilios uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Key.

Key throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Vasilios was covering up waiting for the punch and Key finishes the takedown easily into guard. Vasilios keeping moving, preventing Key from controlling successfully.

And that's the end of the fight! Alkandros Vasilios showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Vasilios, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
