Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Jerome Spong (ranked 1768 p4p, 1190 weight class) and Richie Aprile (ranked 65 p4p, 58 weight class). Spong comes to the ring accompanied by In Loving Memory. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spong is looking to slow Aprile down with leg kicks.
Spong throws the kick towards the body but Aprile avoids it.
Spong misses with an uppercut.
Aprile takes one to the chin there.
Spong throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Spong connects with a jab.
Spong tries to clinch but Aprile moves away
and Aprile counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Jerome Spong has been cut.

and Aprile counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Aprile scores with a body shot.
Aprile scores with a sloppy right hand. Spong should have avoided that one.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Spong misses with a left hand
and Aprile counters with a nice uppercut that drops Spong onto his backside! Spong bounces straight back to his feet before we have a chance to even start the count. He'll get the standing 8 count anyway before we get back underway.
Aprile throws an off balance right hand
letting Spong counter with a right hand.
Aprile cracks Spong with a right hand to the side of the head.
Spong is rocked!
Aprile circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Spong tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Aprile wins by KO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Richie Aprile!
A relieved looking Richie Aprile thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
