Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Amos Melamed (ranked 1781 p4p, 4223 weight class) and Makana Sierra (ranked 204 p4p, 442 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Chris Dean and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melamed clinches up against the cage.
Melamed creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Sierra's defenses.
It looks like Makana Sierra has been cut.
Melamed keeps control of Sierra as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Sierra tries to circle away but Melamed has him pinned against the cage.

Melamed lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Melamed lands a hook to the side of the head.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Melamed.
Sierra is rocked!
Melamed pushes Sierra against the cage. Melamed is working some dirty boxing. Melamed pushes off with a quick right hook! Sierra goes down! Sierra tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Melamed moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Amos Melamed!
