Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Johnson (ranked 4854 p4p, 3649 weight class) and Twell Huffer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. John Johnson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, John Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Twell Huffer!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, William Gold and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Huffer looking to score a takedown here. Johnson is defending well but Huffer drives through and ends up in Johnson's guard.
Johnson is breathing heavily.
Huffer controlling from the top position.
It looks like Huffer might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Huffer postures up and lands a big shot to Johnson's brow.
Huffer controlling from the top position.
Let's hope that Huffer has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Huffer is continuing to stall.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Huffer looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Johnson is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Huffer dives into side control.

Johnson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
You can see the frustration on Johnson's face as Huffer controls the position.
We've been informed that Huffer has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Huffer.

Huffer connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Johnson some visible discomfort.

Johnson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Johnson seems a little lost for a moment, as Huffer dominates the positioning.
Huffer's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Twell Huffer dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Huffer shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Johnson is trying to defend but Huffer finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Johnson kicks Huffer off and gets back to his feet.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Huffer.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Huffer staying calm.
Johnson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Huffer happy to just control the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Huffer passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Johnson!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Huffer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Huffer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
BOOM! Huffer connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Huffer postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Johnson looks a forlorn figure.

Huffer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Huffer cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Twell Huffer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Huffer closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Johnson's guard.

Huffer is in close to Johnson's body, working some short punches and elbows.

The adventures of Huffer the control monster continue. Boring.

Huffer sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Johnson's guard.
Huffer is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Yet more stalling tactics from Huffer.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Huffer takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Huffer lands strikes from half guard.
Huffer is controlling the pace.
Huffer has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Johnson is trying to get back to full guard.
Huffer controlling the action here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Huffer looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Huffer seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Huffer is nestled in close to Johnson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Twell Huffer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Huffer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
