Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George Tucker (ranked 2148 p4p, 4158 weight class) and Joao Gabriel (ranked 0 p4p, 447 weight class). Gabriel has chosen Circo das Galinhas as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, George Tucker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joao Gabriel!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tucker throws a head kick that misses.
Tucker throws an off balance right hand

and Gabriel counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Tucker!
An elbow from Gabriel crashes against the mat.
Gabriel lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Tucker down.
Tucker is looking for a sweep.
Gabriel throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Tucker tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Tucker wants to control but Gabriel postures up.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gabriel accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gabriel thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Tucker manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gabriel manages to get himself to full guard.

Tucker's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Tucker seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Tucker throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Horrible takedown attempt by Gabriel or perhaps it was just good defense by Tucker, which made it look bad.
Tucker slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Gabriel drops back looking for a leg! Tucker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tucker manages to kick Gabriel off! Gabriel jumps back into Tucker's guard.

Tucker manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gabriel manages to get himself to full guard.

Tucker got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gabriel has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tucker has managed to get both his arms back between Gabriel's legs - danger averted.

Gabriel has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tucker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Gabriel is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Joao Gabriel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Tucker enables Gabriel to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Tucker manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Tucker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gabriel swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tucker is posturing up here but Gabriel has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Tucker tries to roll out but it's too tight and Tucker has to tap! Slick submission there by Gabriel!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Joao Gabriel!
During a confident post fight interview, Joao Gabriel thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
