Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Garry Hobbs (ranked 25335 p4p, 25256 weight class) and Hardeep Nijjar (ranked 498 p4p, 458 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Garry Hobbs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hardeep Nijjar! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shigeki Sano and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nijjar displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hobbs. Nijjar scores with a jab to the body. Hobbs gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Nijjar cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Hobbs fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Garry Hobbs. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hobbs misses with a takedown and Nijjar counters with a straight right hand. Hobbs looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Hobbs closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Nijjar is looking to improve his position.

Hobbs is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nijjar sees it coming and defends easily.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Hobbs trying to control the pace. Hobbs wants to free his trapped foot but Nijjar is holding on for dear life with his legs. Nijjar trying to hold on to Hobbs's head to control him but Hobbs postures up.
Hobbs is looking to take a break and control but Nijjar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hobbs is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Nijjar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hobbs. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hobbs is looking for a kimura but Nijjar is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hobbs to get the leverage.

Hobbs drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hobbs jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Nijjar keeping moving, preventing Hobbs from controlling successfully.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hobbs trying to control the position from guard on top but Nijjar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Nijjar leaves Hobbs with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hobbs shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Nijjar defends it nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hobbs misses with a takedown attempt and Nijjar counters with a straight right hand. Hobbs shoots and misses and Nijjar counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
 Hobbs is rocked! Nijjar circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Hobbs to the canvas! Hobbs doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Nijjar keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hardeep Nijjar! Hardeep Nijjar was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
