Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Habibi Barishnikov!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barishnikov tries to close the distance and clinch but Pichler swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Barishnikov scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Pichler is trying to get back to full guard.
Pichler gets back to full guard.
Pichler looking to hit a scissor sweep but Barishnikov is one step ahead there.

Barishnikov tries to free his leg and advance position but Pichler is retaining full guard.

Pichler's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Pichler has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Barishnikov can't do much from the bottom here.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pichler in particular looking to stall.

Barishnikov is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Pichler scores with a couple of nice shots.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Pichler seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Barishnikov for as long as he can get away with.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pichler, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
