Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Newman (ranked 5115 p4p, 25565 weight class) and GazFicko Magyar (ranked 463 p4p, 484 weight class). Newman comes into the arena with Enter Sandman blaring out of the sound system. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Newman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, GazFicko Magyar!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newman misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Newman closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Magyar to the mat! Magyar manages to get full guard.
Newman stays in close to Magyar's body and controls the position.
Newman advances position into side control!
Magyar wants to control but Newman postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Newman in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Magyar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Newman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The strikes coming from Newman are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Magyar gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Magyar reaches up to try and control the position but Newman seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Magyar rolls and tries to escape and now Newman has his back!
You can see the frustration on Magyar's face� He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Magyar is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Newman gets his way!

Newman is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Magyar defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Newman looking to break Magyar's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Magyar remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Newman will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Magyar is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Newman.
Newman lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Newman seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Magyar for as long as he can get away with.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Newman, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
