Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Davion Curry (ranked 3960 p4p, 4653 weight class) and Rafael Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Davion Curry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 48 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Gracie! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Nard Betker and Aafke Stam.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Curry drives through with a takedown into guard. Gracie looks winded! Curry is working Gracie over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Curry is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Gracie has momentary wrist control but Curry slips an elbow through the middle.
Curry got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Curry has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted. Curry wants to pass the guard but Gracie is keeping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Curry lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Curry working some strikes from top position. Gracie keeping full guard, as Curry tries to pass.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Curry is working hard here to advance position. Curry slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Curry works over Gracie with some ground and pound from guard. Curry wanted to stand there but Gracie had control of the position. Curry sitting in guard, not really doing much. Gracie keeping full guard, as Curry tries to pass. Curry slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Curry wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving. Curry passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Curry is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gracie is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Curry slows the pace down. Curry knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground. Gracie takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Curry is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Gracie's shoulder. That is not cool.
Curry tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Gracie is not content to let Curry control the position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Curry landing strikes. Curry wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy.
Curry stands up and beckons Gracie to his feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Curry. Gracie has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Curry controls the position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Curry drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Curry is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.  The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Curry fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gracie to the ground. Curry is now in Gracie's guard.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Curry tries to free his leg and advance position but Gracie is retaining full guard. Gracie is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Curry trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom. Curry works over Gracie with some ground and pound from guard. Curry passes Gracie's left leg - he's now in half guard. Curry is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Curry in particular looking to stall. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Curry lands a nice short elbow.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Curry seems content to control. Gracie is not content to let Curry control the position. Curry controlling the pace. Gracie is looking to improve his position.
Curry is keen to just control but Gracie is a slippery customer.
 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Curry throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Gracie feints the counter takedown.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Gracie takes a kick to the side of the head.
Curry gets a takedown into half guard.
Curry seems to be working for a kimura but Gracie defends the submission attempt. Gracie wants to control but Curry is keeping busy and won't allow it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Curry throws a nice looking combination but Gracie bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Curry decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. A solid leg kick lands there for Curry.

Curry has hold of one of Gracie's legs. Gracie is fighting the takedown attempt but Curry gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Curry is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Curry postures up and lands a big shot to Gracie's brow. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Gracie can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Curry controls the pace.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Curry has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Curry trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
 The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Curry throws a lazy body kick
and Gracie counters with a single leg into guard. Curry didn't expect that.

Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Curry swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Curry is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gracie defends well. Gracie forces his way into half guard. Curry pushes Gracie off looking to stand but Gracie dives back in and keeps control.
Curry is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gracie can do to turn this around?
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Curry trying to control here.

Gracie is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Curry! Gracie looking to control but Curry is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Curry working to try and regain half guard.

Rafael Gracie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Davion Curry is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Gracie with the ground and pound from mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Davion Curry showed his dominance in that final round. Well Curry has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
