Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Melvin Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dan Fanny!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fanny pushes Diaz up against the cage in a clinch.
Fanny wants to take the fight to the mat but Diaz manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Fanny pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Fanny keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Fanny misses with a double jab.
Diaz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Fanny counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Diaz fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Diaz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fanny sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Diaz somewhat.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Fanny is looking to slow Diaz down with leg kicks.
Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fanny swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Diaz goes for a double leg but Fanny avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Fanny continues to drive forward.

Diaz is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Fanny to keep the fight standing.

Fanny dives in and grabs Diaz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Diaz pushes down on Fanny's head and hops out.
Diaz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fanny, pushing him back against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Diaz swings wildly with an uppercut but Fanny uses good head movement to avoid it.
Diaz is trying to drag Fanny to the mat but Fanny just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Diaz has Fanny pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Fanny manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
The referee is keeping an eye on Diaz - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Fanny has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Diaz is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Fanny.
Diaz wants to control but Fanny is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fanny is looking for a sweep.
Fanny is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Fanny advances to half guard.
Fanny content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Diaz might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Fanny wants to lay and pray for a moment but Diaz keeps working.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Diaz moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Diaz closes the distance and pushes Fanny back into the cage.

That was a close second round but I would say that Melvin Diaz will probably get the nod.

Dan Fanny comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Fanny has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
