Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michal Materlak (ranked 424 p4p, 203 weight class) and Rickson Caceres (ranked 58 p4p, 32 weight class). Materlak comes to the cage accompanied by Marzenia. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 28 - 15 - 3, fighting out of Sydney, Michal Materlak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 25 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rickson Caceres! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A low kick lands for Materlak.
Materlak circles away from the clinch attempt.
Materlak throws a jab when Caceres was well out of range. Michal Materlak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Materlak throws out a leg kick but Caceres moves out of range and Materlak only half commits. Materlak slips under a jab from Caceres. Caceres missing with a left hand there. Materlak was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Caceres uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Materlak. Materlak misses with a leg kick. Materlak finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Caceres tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Caceres wants to clinch up but Materlak keeps it at a distance. Caceres slips a jab from Materlak. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Materlak missing with a left hand there. Caceres was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Caceres throws a lazy uppercut
and Caceres takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Caceres slips under a jab. Caceres looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Caceres doesn't succeed with the takedown and Materlak counters with a nice uppercut. Materlak slips under a jab. Caceres takes one on the button. Caceres lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Caceres closes this distance looking for a takedown but Materlak circles away. Michal Materlak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rickson Caceres. Materlak fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Materlak connects with a nice looking jab.
Materlak throws a sloppy head kick
and Caceres counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Caceres. Materlak pulls Caceres in close to prevent any damage. Caceres tries to free his leg and advance position but Materlak is retaining full guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Caceres being controlled here momentarily. Caceres pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Materlak is keeping the position for now. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
 The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Caceres throws a hook to the side of Materlak's head but Materlak sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. A punch lands to the side of Caceres 's head but he takes it in his stride. Caceres has a takedown stuffed. Materlak blocks a jab. Materlak feinted there with a counter leg kick. Materlak throws a leg kick but Caceres sees it coming and checks it nicely. Materlak misses with a hook. Caceres ducked under it nicely. Materlak thows a leg kick but Caceres checks it
and Caceres counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Materlak is looking to get back to is feet but Caceres passes into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Materlak tries to bench press Caceres off him but Caceres keeps the position. Materlak is working hard here to advance position. Materlak can't do much from the bottom here.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Caceres advances to mount. Caceres with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Caceres takes Materlak's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Materlak is in trouble. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Caceres avoiding Materlak 's attempts to control his hands. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Michal Materlak dominated that round. That's time! Materlak's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Materlak throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Caceres looks to land a left hand but Materlak moved out of range nicely. Jab by Caceres. Materlak thows a body kick. Caceres tries to catch it but that hurt him. Materlak scores with a leg kick.
A swing and a miss from Materlak. Caceres has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Caceres there as he acknowledges the shot. Caceres misses with a looping right. Materlak misses with a leg kick
and Caceres counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Caceres. Caceres has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Shinobi Martial Arts & Ninjutsu. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Materlak escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Caceres gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Materlak tries to land a sweep but no joy. Rickson Caceres has got the better of the ground game so far.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Materlak wants to hit a sweep here but Caceres passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Materlak there! Materlak is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Materlak manages to regain half guard. Good work. Materlak wants to get back to full guard.
Caceres seems to be working for a kimura but Materlak defends the submission attempt.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Materlak is trying is best to control the position here. Caceres wants to pass the guard but Materlak is defending well. Materlak wants to get back to full guard but Caceres has passed into side control. Materlak wants to get back to his feet. Materlak sneaks back into half guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Caceres tries to pass to full mount but Materlak defends it. Caceres is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Caceres is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Materlak sees it coming and defends easily. Caceres trying to advance position but Materlak counters by regaining guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Materlak is on top in guard.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Materlak passes Caceres's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Caceres manages to get to full guard.
Materlak sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Caceres's guard. Caceres moves into full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Materlak showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Caceres is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Michal Materlak will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Caceres throws a big right hand that misses. Caceres stopping the sweep attempt from Materlak. Materlak looking to control but Caceres passes into half guard.
Caceres is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Materlak is trying is best to control the position here.

Caceres is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Materlak defends it well. Materlak trying to control here.
Caceres wants to pass to mount but Materlak is defending the position. Caceres throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Caceres prevents Materlak from improving his position.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Materlak holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
 The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Caceres moves out of range of the leg kick from Materlak. Caceres drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Materlak defends it well. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Caceres checks a leg kick. Caceres tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. A decent looking body kick lands there for Materlak. Materlak dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Caceres. That did some damage! Caceres moves out of range of the strikes. Caceres drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Materlak defends it well. Materlak thows a leg kick but Caceres checks it
and Caceres counters with a shoot takedown. Materlak fights it but they end up in guard. Materlak trying to control the position.
Materlak wants to stand but Caceres is controlling the position.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Caceres pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Materlak is keeping the position for now. Caceres pushes down on Materlak's leg and manages to get into half guard. Materlak tries to get to full guard but Caceres has control of the leg. Materlak is looking to control Caceres's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Materlak avoid being mounted? Caceres tries to pass the half guard into mount. Materlak knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Materlak tries to get to full guard but Caceres has control of the leg. Materlak trying to control but Caceres postures up.
Caceres looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
 The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! An inside leg kick lands from Materlak. Rickson Caceres has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Caceres has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Materlak.
And that's the end of the fight! Rickson Caceres comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Materlak has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
