The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Mootoosamy enables Komarov to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mootoosamy manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Komarov stands and throws Mootoosamy's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Komarov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Komarov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Mootoosamy is trying to control Komarov's posture but Komarov avoids it.
Komarov has hold of Mootoosamy's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Mootoosamy seems comfortable defending it but Komarov has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Mootoosamy is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Mootoosamy is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Komarov couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Derek Komarov!
