And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 6 losses; Mr Pervitin! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Joseph Jones and Chad Campbell.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Pervitin shoots in and bounces Solomon off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Solomon (0) vs (2) Pervitin
Pervitin drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Solomon dives on top into guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Solomon (2) vs (2) Pervitin Pervitin keeping moving, preventing Solomon from controlling successfully. Solomon looking to pass the guard.
Pervitin is looking for a triangle but Solomon pushes his legs off easily.

Pervitin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Solomon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Solomon manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Solomon is stalling in the full guard. Solomon passes Pervitin's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Pervitin looking for submissions off his back. Still in half guard, Solomon seems content to control. Solomon has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Pervitin keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Solomon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Solomon in particular looking to stall.
Solomon moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Pervitin. Score +3 for passing guard: Solomon (8) vs (2) Pervitin Pervitin gets back to half guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Solomon seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Solomon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pervitin for as long as he can get away with. Pervitin won't allow Solomon to pass to mount.
Pervitin actively working from the bottom here. Solomon is keen to just control but Pervitin is a slippery customer.
