This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 18 wins and 14 losses; Hamish Farquharson! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 2 losses; Colby Taylor! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Joseph Jones and Franklyn Lucas.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Farquharson.
Farquharson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Farquharson (4) vs (0) Taylor Taylor wants to control but Farquharson postures up.
Farquharson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Taylor tries to buck Farquharson off but Farquharson is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Farquharson just content to control the position. Taylor can't do much from the bottom here.

We've been hearing that Farquharson has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Farquharson is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Taylor is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Farquharson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Taylor wants to improve his position but Farquharson is controlling well.

 That's five minutes gone in the round. Farquharson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Taylor looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Farquharson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Taylor for as long as he can get away with.

Taylor is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Farquharson gets his way!
 The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Farquharson is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Farquharson has the hooks in. Taylor is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Farquharson has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Taylor's body.

Taylor is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Farquharson off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Farquharson just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Farquharson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
 That's nine minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Taylor's face� He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
 That's ten minutes gone in the round. Taylor is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Farquharson really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Taylor. Further stalling from Farquharson.

Farquharson is looking for the choke from the back position but Taylor is controlling his hands well.
Farquharson is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Taylor has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Taylor can't escape the position.
 That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Farquharson not allowing Taylor to control his hands. What can Taylor do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

 That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Taylor breaks Farquharson's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Taylor wants to control from the top but Farquharson keeps moving. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Taylor sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Farquharson's guard. Farquharson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Farquharson.
