Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sparky Anderson (ranked 803 p4p, 1923 weight class) and Masutatsu Oyama (ranked 102 p4p, 232 weight class). Anderson comes to the cage accompanied by Pick up man. Masutatsu Oyama has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 49 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sparky Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Masutatsu Oyama!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson lands a nice hook to Oyama's body. Oyama takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Anderson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Oyama to the ground. Anderson is now in Oyama's guard.
Anderson wants to control from the top but Oyama keeps moving.
Oyama wants to stand up but Anderson is controlling him.
Oyama looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Anderson is pushing down on Oyama's leg trying to pass to half guard. Oyama is fighting to maintain full guard but Anderson has managed to sneak the leg through.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Oyama bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Anderson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oyama thuds his right hand into Anderson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Oyama pushes Anderson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Oyama lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Oyama throws a left and a right that both miss
and Anderson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Oyama throws a body punch but Anderson moves out of range.
Oyama looks to land a left hand but Anderson moved out of range nicely.

Oyama takes the fight into the clinch.

Oyama manages to break the clinch.
Oyama slips under a jab.

Anderson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Oyama sprawls well initially but Anderson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Anderson wants to control but Oyama is keeping him busy.

Oyama really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anderson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Anderson seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Oyama throws a combination. Anderson tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Masutatsu Oyama seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Oyama tries to sprawl but Anderson drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Oyama manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Anderson keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Oyama has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Anderson has clasped his hands together around Oyama's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Oyama is trying to shake Anderson off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Anderson won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.

Anderson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Oyama!
Oyama is looking to get back to his feet here but Anderson is keeping cool and he's managed to take Oyama's back.

Anderson looking to break Oyama's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Oyama remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Anderson will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Oyama is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Oyama is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Anderson has got his arm under Oyama's chin working for the choke� has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Oyama has spun round into Anderson's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Masutatsu Oyama showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Anderson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Anderson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Anderson passes to full mount!
Sparky Anderson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Oyama's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Anderson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
BOOM! Anderson connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Sparky Anderson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Oyama has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
