PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ai Yurchon (ranked 2609 p4p, 2654 weight class) and Remington Kaiser (ranked 165 p4p, 168 weight class). Kaiser is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Slam by Onyx. The key to victory for Ai Yurchon has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ai Yurchon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Remington Kaiser!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yurchon scores with a nice head shot.
Yurchon looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Yurchon throws a hook to the side of Kaiser's head but Kaiser sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kaiser tries a quick counter leg kick but Yurchon is wise to it.
Kaiser has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Yurchon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Yurchon just misses with a punch to the body.
Kaiser uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Yurchon.
Kaiser tries to counter by closing the distance.
Yurchon throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Ai Yurchon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yurchon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kaiser sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Kaiser tries to clinch up but Yurchon circles away and keeps his distance.
Yurchon tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kaiser was well out of range. Poor timing from Yurchon.
Despite the aggression on Kaiser's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Yurchon lands a jab to the nose.
Yurchon connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Kaiser momentarily.

Kaiser on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Kaiser ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Yurchon is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Kaiser shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Yurchon sprawls well. Yurchon wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kaiser gets slowly back to his feet.

Yurchon lands a glancing blow to the side of Kaiser's head.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kaiser! But no joy.
Kaiser misses with a takedown attempt - Yurchon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ai Yurchon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Remington Kaiser.
Kaiser throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Kaiser unleashes a big counter combination but Yurchon bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Yurchon sizes up Kaiser with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Kaiser avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Kaiser closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kaiser throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Kaiser stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Yurchon to get to his feet.

Yurchon throws a big shot that misses.

Kaiser closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kaiser lands in his opponent's guard.
Yurchon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Yurchon is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Kaiser dives into side control.
Yurchon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kaiser on the ground.
A lull in the action here as Kaiser stalls from top position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Yurchon wants to escape the position.

Yurchon is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Kaiser gets his way!

Yurchon is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Kaiser shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Yurchon tries to sprawl but Kaiser drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Kaiser is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yurchon stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Kaiser shoots in looking for a takedown but Yurchon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kaiser's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kaiser shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Yurchon but Yurchon pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Kaiser misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Yurchon scores with a hook to the body. Kaiser takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Kaiser tries to close the distance and clinch up but Yurchon swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kaiser drops his hands momentarily and Yurchon takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Kaiser is still on wobbly legs! Can Yurchon finish him?
Yurchon scores with a hook.
Yurchon throws a hook but Kaiser blocks it.
Yurchon cracks Kaiser on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Kaiser falls backwards against the cage. Yurchon follows up with more strikes that drop Kaiser to his knees. Yurchon keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Kaiser! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ai Yurchon!
