Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sigmund Salazar (ranked 3040 p4p, 4727 weight class) and Rigoberto Ricardo (ranked 326 p4p, 437 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rigoberto Ricardo!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Salazar gets a takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Salazar is trying a forearm choke� I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Ricardo slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Ricardo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Salazar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Salazar got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ricardo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Salazar has managed to get both his arms back between Ricardo's legs - danger averted.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Salazar uses his free foot to push down on Ricardo's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ricardo.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Salazar has control of Ricardo's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Ricardo regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Salazar looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Ricardo is controlling an arm, preventing Salazar from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Salazar is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Ricardo is forced to tap! Great finish!
