Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Will Blackmon (ranked 4978 p4p, 4419 weight class) and Smedt Van Kampen (ranked 436 p4p, 411 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Will Blackmon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Smedt Van Kampen!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Kampen fails with the takedown.
Blackmon dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Van Kampen. That did some damage!
Blackmon throws a low kick but Van Kampen moves out of range easily.

Blackmon moves into range and clinches up with Van Kampen.
Blackmon lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Van Kampen backwards.

Blackmon has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Van Kampen uses from the top position.
Van Kampen is pushing down on Blackmon's leg trying to pass to half guard. Blackmon is fighting to maintain full guard but Van Kampen has managed to sneak the leg through.

Van Kampen is trying a forearm choke� I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Van Kampen seems to be looking for submissions.

Van Kampen is looking to take a break and control but Blackmon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Well, if Van Kampen is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight� I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza� Yum. Can't wait.
Van Kampen prevents Blackmon from improving his position.
Van Kampen keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Van Kampen is keen to just control but Blackmon is a slippery customer.
Blackmon on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Blackmon tries to get out of the position.
Still in half guard, Van Kampen seems content to control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Blackmon is looking for a sweep. Van Kampen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Blackmon is not content to let Van Kampen control the position.
Blackmon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Blackmon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Van Kampen is working away from the top position though.

Van Kampen is looking for a kimura here.
Blackmon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Van Kampen on the ground.

Blackmon wants to improve his position but Van Kampen is controlling well.
Van Kampen is thwarting Blackmon's attempts to control the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Blackmon thows a leg kick but Van Kampen checks it

so Van Kampen counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Van Kampen content to stall in guard here.

Van Kampen trying to control the position from guard on top but Blackmon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Van Kampen tries to free his leg and advance position but Blackmon is retaining full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Van Kampen engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
It looks like Van Kampen might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Smedt Van Kampen dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

A head kick misses from Blackmon.
Van Kampen changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Van Kampen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Blackmon as he jumps to the side.
Van Kampen checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Blackmon just misses with a punch to the body.

Will Blackmon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Van Kampen checks a leg kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Van Kampen.
Van Kampen avoids a kick to the body.

Van Kampen on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Blackmon connects with the punch.
Van Kampen closes the distance and clinches up with Blackmon, looking for a takedown. Van Kampen pushes Blackmon against the cage but Blackmon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Will Blackmon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Smedt Van Kampen.
Van Kampen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Blackmon but Blackmon pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Van Kampen shoots and misses
enabling Blackmon to counter with a crisp jab.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Van Kampen.
Blackmon slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Van Kampen on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Van Kampen is rocked!
Will Blackmon is winning the standup battle so far.
Van Kampen misses with a takedown attempt - Blackmon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Blackmon looks to land a body kick but Van Kampen moved away.
Blackmon connects with a right hand. Van Kampen shakes it off.
Van Kampen is still on wobbly legs! Can Blackmon finish him?
Blackmon looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Blackmon lands a big right hand that sends Van Kampen crashing to the mat! Blackmon stays standing though and waves Van Kampen back to his feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Van Kampen is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Blackmon doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Van Kampen crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Van Kampen's bad books for that mishap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Will Blackmon!
Smedt Van Kampen spoke after the fight, saying 'Thank you everyone, today is my last fight. Even though today didnt go my way i am very grateful to everyone, and i have enjoyed my career.'.
